Its charity arm, Hong Leong Foundation donates more than $550,000 to 5744 needy as part of its early lunar festivities Singapore, 20 January 2016 – Lunar New Year festivities came early to 60 elderly beneficiaries when Hong Leong Foundation, the charity arm of Hong Leong Group, took them back in time to the Jurassic period when dinosaurs roamed the earth. The event took place earlier today at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum at the National University of Singapore. It is part of the Foundation’s annual charity event which includes cash giveaways of S$557,400 to 5744 recipients. This amount will be distributed to 3,860 individuals who are receiving financial assistance from the Ministry of Social and Family Development under the ComCare Long Term Assistance Scheme, and 1884 elderly who hold the Medical Fee Exemption cards.
